Most iPhone cases are made of plastic and metal, and so there are
countless affordable and sturdy cases to choose from. Even so, there’s
more to the art of the smartphone case than a simple equation of price
and utility. For many of us, aesthetics play a large role in deciding
which case to buy. If style is important to you, I think you’ll find
that nothing says “class” quite like leather.
From pure minimalism to stylish utility, leather cases have a lot of
range. Today, I want to show you four of the best leather iPhone 6 cases
currently available. These certainly aren’t the most
rough-and-tumble cases
in existence, and some are quite expensive, but you just can’t beat the
incredible air of sophistication that comes with a nice leather case.
Caseology Bumper Frame
- Price: $10.99
- Colors: Black, Red
This lovely leather case from Caseology is an excellent combination
of style, protection, and affordability. While the back of the case is
covered in leather, the sides of the case are gold-colored
polycarbonate. Your iPhone 6 will be safe from small drops and bumps,
but there’s no need to sacrifice in the looks department. Even better,
this case is only $11, and everyone knows that there’s nothing more
stylish than a good deal.
Spigen Case Wallet S
- Price: $19.99
- Colors: Black, Mint, Pink, White
If you’re looking for a case with a bit more utility, check out this
wallet-style iPhone case from Spigen. It will dutifully protect your
$650 investment while pulling triple duty as a full-fledged wallet and a
stand as well. Cards, cash, and iPhone alike all tuck neatly in this
low-profile case. Keep in mind, this case
is made with
synthetic leather. If real animal skin just isn’t something you’re
comfortable with, this case is an excellent alternative option.
Beyzacases Lute
- Price: $30.95
- Colors: Grey, Black, Red, Yellow
The Lute from the folks at Beyzacases is unadulterated minimalism in
case form. It’s not fancy, quadruple reinforced, or even made from
space-age polymers. However, the Lute is handmade, incredibly thin, and
absolutely beautiful in every way. There’s not much protection or
practical functionality built into this case, but it’s second to none in
terms of aesthetics. I would be proud to snap this around my iPhone,
but the fact is that it’s not right for everyone. If “look pretty” isn’t
at the top of your priority list, this case just isn’t going to cut it
for you.
Apple Leather Case
- Price: $45.00
- Colors: Black, Red, Blue, Brown, Pink
Unlike the hideous leather binding that once graced the user
interface of the iOS calendar app, Apple’s leather iPhone 6 case is a
thing of beauty. It fits perfectly, comes in a wide variety of colors,
and it definitely doesn’t disappoint in terms of fashion. Apple’s case
is excellent at preventing accidental slips and scratches, but it’s not
going to do much if your iPhone 6 is involved in a serious impact. It’s
an incredibly dapper case, but with a price tag that massive, I can’t
recommend it to everyone. There are much better deals out there, but the
heart wants what the heart wants. My heart? It definitely wants this
case.
Tougher than leather
Are leather cases just not your thing? No problem — we’ve got you
covered right here at Geek.com. I’ve searched high and low, and compiled
a series of posts containing some of the very best iPhone 6 cases in
existence. If you’re rough with your electronics, take a look at some
heavy-duty cases. Always on the go? Try one of these awesome
travel cases instead. Maybe these leather models are just too thick for your tastes? Check out these four
insanely thin cases
from companies like Peel and Spigen. Whatever your lifestyle is like,
you’re bound to find the perfect case for your new iPhone.
Remember, not all cases are created equal. If you’re considering
buying a minimalist case like the Lute, your expensive gadget is still
at a significant risk of breaking from serious drops. If you’re
concerned about the safety of your iPhone 6, think about investing $99
on
AppleCare
or your carrier’s insurance plan. It can be a bit pricey, but I almost
always find the peace of mind to be worth the upfront investment. After
all, just the thought of having to buy a full-priced replacement phone
makes me a little sick to my stomach.
